TOWN LOWERS MILL LEVY AS PROPERTY VALUATIONS INCREASE

The Board of Trustees recently adopted the 2008 budget which includes setting the mill levy for next year.  Valuations of properties have increased dramatically, but the town has lowered its mill levy to compensate. The town will lower its mill levy from the 3.247 this year to 2.683 next year. For the 2007 taxing year the town mill levy is 5.35 % of the total mill levy of 60.682 mills assessed to town  property owners.
