PURPOSE:
Updates on this group and topic can be found here.
Outlined below are the key initiatives that this committee is focusing on:
• Grand Avenue Multimodal Corridor Project: This project is crucial for enhancing transportation connectivity to I-70 and the Eagle County Regional Airport. It addresses traffic capacity, multimodal infrastructure needs, and safety concerns by incorporating intersection enhancements, upgrading pedestrian and cyclist facilities, and widening Grand Avenue.
• Housing: We aim to provide short-term housing options to attract and retain talented individuals for key positions within our local government. This initiative ensures that Eagle can assemble and maintain an exceptional team to deliver essential services such as public safety, community development, and public works.
• Sustainability and Net Zero Goals: Environmental stewardship is a top priority to achieve net zero carbon emissions internally by 2028 and community-wide by 2030. Sustainable initiatives will reinforce our community's dedication to environmental responsibility and yield lasting positive effects for future generations.
• Open Space and Outdoor Recreation: Preserving and enhancing our open spaces is crucial for maintaining our community's character and providing opportunities for outdoor recreation and wildlife habitat. Your insights on open space management and spending from the Sales Tax Improvement Fund will contribute significantly to these endeavors.
MEETINGS: Agendas and Minutes are posted on the Town's website. Meeting facilitation is done by Bill Wray and Town staff.
