Community members are invited to attend an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14 at the Eagle Town Hall to provide comments and feedback regarding upcoming enhancements to Howard St. and Fourth St. in the Town of Eagle.
The project, spanning Howard St. between Second St. and Sixth St. will feature significant improvements including:
- Repaving along Howard St. between Second St. and Sixth St. with adjustments to the road profile while preserving the existing gravel shoulders.
- Drainage improvements including a new storm system, drainage pans and dry wells along Howard St. to mitigate water accumulation during rain events and spring runoff.
- Enhancements along Howard St. with marked pavement to designate it as a dedicated bike corridor connecting Second St. to Fifth St.
- Upgrading the Howard St. sewer system with minor improvements between Second St. and Third St., plus a new sewer line between Fourth St. and Sixth St.
- Installing two new eight-inch water mains between Second St. and Sixth St. and between Wall St. and Washington St.
- Implementing safer street strategies such as incorporating drainage pans and road narrowing to promote safer traffic flow in the area.
As the project approaches its final design stage, preparations are underway for work to begin this summer. Comments and feedback on the infrastructure improvements will be accepted until March 22.
