[ARCHIVED] Help Develop Eagle's Roadway Safety Action Plan

SS4A news Flash

The town of Eagle invites community participation in development of its Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Roadway Safety Action Plan, aimed at enhancing safety for all roadway users including motorists, cyclists, walkers, mobility device users and transit users.

To ensure the plan reflects the community's needs and concerns, residents are encouraged to use an online mapping tool at Eagle Safety Action Plan | Input Central to pinpoint and comment on areas needing safety improvements including pedestrian crossings, sidewalks or stop signs. This interactive tool will help the town gather valuable feedback from the community to shape the plan and identify strategic areas for safety improvements.

“The Safety Action Plan is a critical step toward ensuring that our roadways are safe for everyone in the Eagle community,” Eagle Town Engineer Ryan Johnson said. “We are committed to involving our residents and businesses in this process as their insights and experiences are invaluable in identifying areas that need improvement.”

In collaboration with SS4A consultants KLJ, the town is also forming a steering committee that will include stakeholders from various sectors such as law enforcement personnel, business owners, community members, cyclists and Eagle County School District transit employees. The first meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, at Eagle Town Hall from 3 - 4:30 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the steering committee can email eagleSS4A@kljeng.com

Staff and SS4A consultants will provide further details about the program at a community open house on Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Eagle Town Hall from 4 - 6 p.m. Information will also be available on Friday, Sept. 13, from 8 -11 a.m. at Yeti’s Grind in Eagle and during the final Eagle Farmers Market on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Eagle Town Park from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

The town has been awarded an SS4A grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to create this plan. Upon completion, the town will be eligible to apply for additional federal funding to implement the proposed safety improvements.
