Appointed – July 2018
Current Term – 2018 – 2022
Matthew has been in Eagle for the past three years, he is an Associate Principal for JIRSA Hedrick Structural Engineers and runs the company’s mountain office. Matthew has over 10 years of design experience in Alaska and Colorado. Prior to his start as a consultant, Matthew ran the structural engineering portion of the Building Department in Anchorage, Alaska. He is an asset in code interpretations and building permitting. Matthew loves that Eagle is poised to take advantage of the growing movement to make quality of life a priority in people’s lives. Living in Eagle makes it easy to develop a good work/life balance, but it’s important to be cognizant that people still need to work. Eagle has the opportunity to grow into a place where people can live and play without having to travel long distances for any of it. A priority for Matthew while serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission is to preserve the culture and feel of Eagle as it grows as well as to engage with the community. When Matthew is not in the office he can often be found skiing, mountain biking and white-water kayaking with his wife and two young boys. Areas of interest for Matthew are preserving the small town feel of Eagle, while differentiating ourselves from other mountain towns.
