The Capitol Street Project is a comprehensive roadway and utility reconstruction extending from Grand Avenue to 5th Street. The project includes replacement of the existing undersized water main and installation of a new storm drainage system where none currently exist. In addition, the water main on 4th Street, between Howard Street and Broadway, will be replaced as part of this project.
Street improvements will include new paved parking areas, curb, and sidewalk along Capitol Street. Pedestrian safety enhancements, including curb extensions (bump-outs) and raised crosswalks, will be constructed to improve visibility and enhance traffic calming along the corridor.
